Haiku To Save The World

hippies from the day
‘peace’, ‘love’, and ‘no war’ abound,
jaded at present

we should go back to
the Earth-loving ways of old
to save tomorrow

recycle, reuse,
reduce waste and resource use,
remember nature

the things we should do
to help make a better world,
arm-in-arm we’ll stand

we can save the world
for them, our children’s children,
one step at a time

  10. Wonderful haiku. So very true. We need to make drastic changes in our thinking that the planet is just one big waste receptacle.

  12. I love this. I love do haiku "sets" and have done many. This melds the need for "green" with the form that celebrates nature. Well done. Thanks. Gay

  14. We could, but I'm not sure we can, not as long as there are powerful protectors of profits hiding behind politicians protecting power.

  15. Thinking globally and acting locally can make a difference. It is raising the consciousness of the whole that is a stumbling block. As is greed. It won't stop me from doing my part and setting an example. Great One Stop.
